"Minecraft Is Not Just a Simple Game" Hello, I am Chang-hyeok Ahn, a Minecraft instructor with 6 years of experience (both in-person and online). I majored in Information & Communication at two universities (Halla University) and Business Information at Jeju National University. I have taught the Metaverse (ZeP, ZEPETO, Gather Town, Minecraft) to elementary, middle, high school, and university students. In October 2025, I served as the supervising teacher for two teams participating in the first National Minecraft AI e-sport competition. I currently teach everything related to Minecraft—including the game itself, coding, and competitions—on Jeju Island. ~ Major Teaching Experience • Minecraft block coding, commands, and add-ons (Developer Course) focused on elementary and middle school students • Diagramming actual in-game creations into code, rather than just content found in Minecraft books • Developing and operating customized learning curricula for students • Conducting classes on online and offline platforms for many years My classes are not simply about playing the game; they are about showing the underlying aspects. Many parents also hold negative perceptions of video games. However, among those who have learned through Minecraft, this is how they change, whether they are coding for the first time or creating new things. Minecraft provides a stepping stone that allows them to advance into various fields such as 3D, pixel art, architecture, and development.
