I am Samantha, a public elementary school teacher in the Eastern United States. I received my education in the U.S. from elementary school through my master's degree program, and I currently meet with children every day as a homeroom teacher at a local public school. In addition to being a homeroom teacher, I serve as the 3rd-grade science curriculum coordinator for over 22 elementary schools and approximately 40 classes within the county, personally designing and operating the curriculum. I believe that when discussing American education, it is crucial to deeply understand how students actually learn and live in American elementary schools. Every day, I personally experience in the field how students learn and the process teachers go through to design lessons. Therefore, rather than merely mimicking the outward appearance or atmosphere of American-style classes, I aim to naturally convey to Korean students the question-, discussion-, and inquiry-centered learning that takes place in actual American classrooms. Just as important as this educational expertise is my sincerity toward the children. Rather than showing off impressive knowledge, I love creating a classroom where I listen attentively to each and every child's questions, where they are not afraid to make mistakes, and where they can freely express their thoughts. Furthermore, having worked as an English teacher in Korea, I understand better than anyone the linguistic burden and cultural differences our students experience when taking subject classes in English, allowing me to guide them with meticulous care. Currently, as the Director of the CCSS Curriculum at Faro Edu, I am developing classes alongside a global team of instructors. I also take full responsibility for instructor training to ensure that the educational methods and philosophy of actual American classrooms are fully incorporated into our lessons. Based on the experience I have accumulated over many years learning as a student and teaching as a teacher in the United States, I will deliver the most authentic and genuine American classroom. Thank you.
