Hello, my name is Tsego. I was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and an honors degree in Psychology from North-West University. Before coming to Korea, I volunteered with children with various physical and mental disabilities. I hold a TEFL certification. After coming to Korea, I worked as a native English-speaking teacher at elementary and middle schools in Taebaek-si, Gangwon-do. At the elementary school, I taught grades 3 through 6. I taught all skills (reading, writing, listening, and speaking) and primarily used games to help train the vocabulary and diction learned during class as a form of review. At the middle school, I mainly taught conversation and grammar covered in conversational phrases, helping students understand how to construct their own sentences based on parts of what they had learned. I kept students interested in the lessons and helped them prepare for speaking exams by reviewing games at the end of each class and unit. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and English which I obtained from the North-West University. I also have an Honors degree in Psychology from the same university as well as a TEFL certificate obtained from i-to-i. Before moving to South Korea I volunteered with children that have various physical and mental disabilities. In Korea I taught at four schools: one elementary school and three middle schools. With the elementary school I taught 3rd grade to 6th grade. I taught all the skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) and used games to help drill the vocab and diction that they learned during the lesson, so basically as a review. At the middle school level I taught mainly conversation and the grammar covered in the conversation phrases that they have learned so they could understand how to build their own sentences using the parts of the learned phrases as foundation.
