Hello. I am Teacher Mar, bringing you ‘Thinking Art.’ I graduated from the College of Fine Arts at Sookmyung Women’s University and worked as a full-time instructor at children’s art academies and for entrance exam art classes. Leveraging my years of experience as a production PD in the film industry, I currently teach as a Children’s Art Storyteller at the Seoul Arts Center, focusing on ‘storytelling.’ We now live in a world alongside AI. Rather than the ability to remember and organize information, the power to feel, interpret, and speak; the power to empathize with the emotions of others and the times; and the power to freely express one’s own thoughts have become more important. This class is a liberal arts-based art class designed to cultivate such power. Together with me, children appreciate masterpieces, formulate questions, imagine stories, and express their emotions and thoughts through creative works using their own unique perspectives. Art is a language that connects expression and thought. A child who reads a painting comes to see the world differently. I planned this class with the hope that children will develop their unique human thinking skills and sensibilities. I will warmly guide you in this liberal art class, which fosters sensibility, imagination, and expressiveness, tailored to your level.
