I am Kim Hee-jeong, an art educator and visual artist who majored in Western painting and currently conducts art classes for various age groups. While technological advancements have ushered in an era where we can learn anytime, anywhere, I believe that art, in particular, still requires an approach based on warm communication and sentiment. Therefore, I aim for classes that go beyond simple drawing to foster self-expression, creative thinking, and emotional regulation skills. In the age of AI, children's imagination and creativity may increasingly shrink if they do not draw and create with their hands. I believe that children can cultivate the power to expand their thinking through activities where they express themselves and experience things firsthand. ❖ The Direction of Classes at Kookg At Kookg, we help children understand characters and naturally acquire a creative sense of design through integrated classes that combine drawing and making. For example, the ‘Making My Own Squishy’ class utilizes chibi-style characters to help students easily learn human proportions and design their own characters that capture their unique personalities. In addition to this, the curriculum is designed to foster not only children’s creativity but also their sense of accomplishment and self-esteem through the creation of various character goods. ❖ Educational Philosophy I believe that highly immersive and intimate classes are possible even in an online environment. I strive to create warm classes tailored to each child’s pace, carefully observing their individual sensibilities and rhythms. I believe that art is not something that requires special talent, but rather a tool for life that anyone can fully enjoy.
