Hello. I am Lee Si-young, an educator who bridges the gap between art and education, connecting movement with learning. Although I graduated from an arts-focused high school and an arts university, art was not everything. During my school years, as an arts major, I often fell behind in general subjects. However, instead of accepting this situation, I researched study methods by asking myself, "How can I study efficiently?" The answer I discovered was a "learning method of mastering with the body and remembering through rhythm." For example, I memorized English vocabulary by associating it with movements, and I memorized important concepts like a song while following the rhythm. This method allowed me to retain information much longer than simple rote memorization and led to actual improvements in my grades. My grades gradually rose from the lower-middle range, eventually allowing me to enter the arts university of my choice. This experience served as a crucial foundation when structuring my classes as an educator. My goal is not merely to transmit knowledge, but to help learners immerse themselves with interest and feel a sense of accomplishment. Therefore, I have developed content that combines movement and language, such as English ballet, English storytelling, and K-pop English classes, and have conveyed the message to countless children that “studying is not boring, but enjoyable and something to be internalized.” My own study experiences, in which I overcame failure to achieve growth, are fully infused into every class I teach. I aspire to be a realistic and warm guide for children who lack confidence in their studies, and a mentor who can ignite the spark of passion for those with hidden potential. My educational philosophy is to cultivate in children the “confidence in studying” and “habits of learning” that are more important than grades.
