A Philosophy-Based English Speaking Class

“Ask questions, organize your thoughts, and speak in English.”

This is not just a simple conversation class.
It is a thinking-based English class designed to help students develop the ability to think for themselves and express their ideas clearly.

“What is happiness?”
“Why do we follow rules?”
“What does real courage look like?”

Through philosophical questions like these,
students learn to organize their thoughts
and practice expressing them naturally in English.

This class helps awaken a child’s mind through both critical thinking and language development,
while building a steady English routine of turning thoughts into spoken words.

🧩 Class Structure (30 minutes)

Intro & Warm-up (5 min)
– Introduce the philosophy question of the day
– Warm up with related expressions

Expression & Pattern (10 min)
– Learn useful speaking patterns for expressing ideas
 (e.g. I believe that… / In my opinion…)
– Practice saying 2–3 example sentences and applying them

Think & Share (10 min)
– Share personal thoughts about the question
– Listen to others’ opinions and respond briefly

Wrap-up & Feedback (5 min)
– Review the key expressions learned that day
– Simple homework guidance (say one sentence about your opinion or submit a short voice recording)

📚 What students will learn through this class

1️⃣ The ability to organize thoughts
When students hear a philosophical question,
they practice moving from “I don’t know…” to “This is what I think.”
→ This directly helps with school presentations and writing as well.

2️⃣ English speaking patterns for expressing opinions
Students learn core structures such as
“I think…”, “In my opinion…”, and “I believe…”
to express their ideas in English.
→ These patterns can also be applied to discussions, essays, and interviews.

3️⃣ Practice in exchanging opinions and communicating
By listening to a friend’s opinion and responding with expressions like
“I agree because…” or “I disagree because…”,
students learn not only how to express their own views, but also how to listen and respond thoughtfully.

Each week, students respond to a different philosophical question by
