Join Vocabulary Workshop Purple

This class is designed for children ages 7–9 living in the U.S. who are beginning to build stronger reading and writing skills. At this stage, expanding vocabulary is one of the most important foundations for confident communication and academic success. Many students can read basic texts, but they often struggle to fully understand new words or use them naturally in speaking and writing.

In this class, students will explore key vocabulary from the Vocabulary Workshop Purple Level through engaging activities, discussions, and short writing practices. Rather than simple memorization, students will learn how to recognize word meanings, understand context, and use new words in real-life sentences.

Expected Outcomes

• Build a stronger vocabulary foundation for reading and writing

• Improve reading comprehension and confidence in expressing ideas

• Develop the ability to use new words naturally in speaking and writing

• Prepare for more advanced academic vocabulary in upper elementary grades

Through consistent exposure and practice, students will gradually gain the language tools they need to become more confident and independent learners.

Class Format

• Pacing: Students will learn one unit per class, allowing them to focus on understanding and practicing each set of vocabulary words through guided activities, reading, and speaking.

• Homework: After each class, students will complete a short review assignment (about 20 minutes) to reinforce the words learned in class.

• Assessment: There are no formal tests or quizzes. Instead, the class focuses on building vocabulary naturally through repetition, context, and active use of the words.
