With each discussion, I encourage them not just to memorize facts, but to wonder: Why did the artist choose this moment? What story lies beneath the surface? Through these questions, students build not only their English skills, but also curiosity, critical thinking, and the courage to express themselves. I have a calm, warm energy (think deep forest green), but Iโ€™m not afraid to bring intensity to the room, asking tough questions that linger long after class ends. I hope that one day, when students come across a painting or a world event, theyโ€™ll remember something we discussed and look at it with sharper eyes and a more open mind!
