Hello, I am Teacher Debbie. I graduated from the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Ewha Womans University and received my Ph.D. in Comparative Politics from the School of International Relations at Peking University in China. Since then, I have worked as a researcher at the Korea Institute for Policy Evaluation and Planning, where I have conducted academic research focusing on East Asian international politics, Chinese politics, and national image. Having studied and researched in China for a long time, I have built a deep understanding of the Chinese language, culture, and East Asian society. While conducting research that compares and analyzes changes in perceptions of China by Korea, Japan, Russia, and the United States, I have also maintained a consistent interest in explaining international politics in an accessible way so that general readers can understand it. My strength lies in explaining complex content in an easy and fun way, and I conduct participatory classes centered on stories, games, quizzes, and role-playing so that children can learn a new language without feeling burdened. In my classes, I prioritize the "experience of speaking directly" rather than simply memorizing vocabulary. I conduct classes centered on real-life expressions so that children can naturally greet, introduce themselves, and ask and answer simple questions in Chinese. Because I use English for explanations, even children encountering Chinese for the first time can participate comfortably. Furthermore, I hope that as children learn Chinese, they will go beyond mere language acquisition and cultivate curiosity about the world and different cultures. Experiencing diverse languages and cultures at a young age can be a crucial experience for broadening a child's thinking and fostering a global perspective. Through Panda Chinese Club classes, I hope children will perceive Chinese not as a difficult and unfamiliar language, but as a fun and friendly one. By the end of the class, I hope children will feel confident, saying, "Chinese is fun" and "I can speak Chinese too." My biggest goal is to have it.
