Hello. This is Geulrosalgi. I am a writer and former journalist. Based on my experience in planning, reporting, interviewing, and writing, I conduct classes that connect reading and writing for both adults and children. Additionally, as a mother, I have consistently spent several years reading newspapers with my own child, sharing questions, and expressing our thoughts in writing. Having done this firsthand with my child, I was able to observe up close which articles children find interesting and where they struggle. At the library, I conduct the "Elementary Writing Starting with Newspaper Articles" class, connecting reading and writing with elementary students through various activities such as reading articles, formulating questions, writing letters, and organizing arguments for and against. I believe it is important to start naturally from a child's interests and curiosity rather than forcing them to write. I help children who like baseball to express their thoughts and write them down through baseball articles, and children interested in food through food articles. I believe that NIE is not merely an activity of reading newspapers, but a process of cultivating the ability to interpret the world and organize one's thoughts in speech and writing. Above all, because it deals with events happening right now, it does not feel like a story from a distant land to the children.
