“100 children have 100 different thoughts.” We hope that our students, too, will find their own answers and wisdom, rather than a single correct answer. To achieve this, we have launched a mock trial discussion class based on Havruta. First of all, Havruta is a Jewish learning culture of "questioning, explaining, and debating together." Through the process of sharing various questions, students come to think more deeply about the topic and can simultaneously develop creative problem-solving skills, logical thinking, and presentation abilities. And the most important factor is the level of interest in the class. No matter how beneficial a class may be, it is difficult to achieve results if students are not motivated or find it interesting. I believe that a mock trial is the class that can resolve this concern. Although I have conducted various classes with diverse curricula, the mock trial has been the class with the highest satisfaction among students. Therefore, I plan to select a real case that students are likely to be interested in as the subject, explain the case in an easy-to-understand manner, and proceed to encourage participation. Furthermore, as many students become engrossed in short-form content and video games, they struggle with deep thinking and have little interest in the news. They also find it difficult to present their thoughts logically and confidently. The Mock Trial class is a self-directed and participatory course designed to transform these students, and you can expect the following four outcomes: First, increased interest in law and current affairs. Second, the development of logical thinking skills. Third, gaining confidence in public speaking (presentations). Fourth, learning debate etiquette that respects the opinions of others. We are opening the Mock Trial class through Kookoo, a program that has previously been conducted exclusively in elementary and middle schools and has received high satisfaction ratings from both students and teachers. We want to present our students with an unforgettable new experience.
