Hello! This is a gentle math and kanji class where "I don't understand" turns into "I did it!" My name is Yuka Hashida, and I am a child development support specialist who will be in charge of the lessons. Do children struggle to keep up with school lessons? Do they feel anxious when they see numbers? Do they have trouble concentrating? Do they have difficulty understanding explanations? Do they struggle with reading and writing kanji? I started this class because I wanted to create a place where children like these can learn at their own pace. In this class, we strive to tailor the learning to each child with developmental characteristics, focusing on: * Breaking down difficult explanations * Using lots of diagrams and images * Building up small successes * Creating a safe and supportive learning environment without rushing It's okay if your child struggles with math. We start with "It's okay to make mistakes." "I can't ask questions at school, but I can here." "Maybe math is a little fun!" I hope to help children develop these kinds of feelings. To parents/guardians. Children with developmental disabilities or those in the "gray zone" often don't "not understand," but rather have a different "starting point for understanding." When a suitable communication method is found for each child, their expressions change, and their confidence grows.
