체스 아카데미 대회반 : 대회 대비부터 우승까지

Starting with three one-day classes last year, I began studying seriously in the beginner class starting last October. I started playing chess with Teacher Young-chan and have continued all the way to the competition class... Except for one term I took off because the schedules didn't align, I have diligently attended all the chess lessons! He always keeps the children engaged during class, and I was amazed to see how well he guides the children's thinking to expand as the class level increases. He is a great teacher who elevates both our interest and skills! Since January of this year, I think we have participated in a competition about once every three months. We have won awards ranging from 1st to 3rd place. Although we ended up with 3rd place in the recent National Youth Chess Tournament after a tiebreaker following our victory over 2nd place, seeing my child accept even that so maturely made me realize how much our thoughts and hearts have grown through chess. As a parent, I feel very proud to have given my child the gift of a truly healthy hobby. Although my child is busy studying, I highly recommend Teacher Youngchan's class, which allows them to receive excellent instruction regardless of location.

I participated in my second chess tournament a few weeks ago and received an Encouragement Award with 3 wins and 1 draw. ^^ I was a little disappointed because the Excellence Award and Top Award (4 wins or more) are trophies, while the Encouragement Award is a medal. haha. Last time I had a 3-2 record, so my goal was 4 wins, but we decided to achieve that next time. ^^ The tournament class is almost over. I joined starting from the Intermediate class and was thinking of taking a short break, but they asked me to sign up for the Pro class right away. 😅 It is my favorite class.

Since it is the competition class, it definitely feels like the difficulty of the homework and lessons has increased. Please teach the children to go a step further than just the basic rules and help them expand their thinking. When the children are unsure how far to extend their ideas, you provide direction and teach them how to expand upon them and make them their own. Of course, the child will have to invest time and effort, haha. Plus, thanks to you, my child and I have been watching the Chess Olympiad lately, and it is so enjoyable to have developed a shared family interest.
