I am Scarlet, a chess teacher who cultivates the 'vessel of thought.' ♟️ I hold the qualification of a National Instructor certified by the International Chess Federation (FIDE) and have been working with children in the educational field for 17 years since 2009. Currently, I operate The Chess EPA Academy, a specialized educational institution for chess and mind sports, and as a member of the Korea Chess Federation, I personally plan and operate official chess tournaments. In each class, we focus on intensive training on a single core topic (tactics such as one-move mates, forks, and pins) and immediately apply them to actual games on an online chess platform. During review sessions, I have the child explain in words "why they made that move." My teaching principle is to wait for them to find the answer on their own rather than giving them the correct answer. Classes are conducted in small, elite groups so that I can meticulously review each student's moves. 💡 We have witnessed this growth together - Elementary school students who were new to chess have grown to the point where they can identify checkmate patterns on their own within just one semester. - Students who have been learning since kindergarten are gaining practical experience by participating in official tournaments. - We operate a separate advanced class for top-tier students who desire in-depth learning. - I frequently receive feedback from parents stating that their child, who was previously told they were easily distracted, has developed the habit of "stopping to think before making a move" through chess. 🙏 I believe this: Chess is a tool that expands a child's "vessel of thought." More important than winning or losing are the habit of pausing to think before making a move, the attitude of learning by reviewing mistakes, and the mindset of never giving up until the end.
