Hello. I am Ms. Choi Soo-young, a child psychology counselor with 15 years of experience and known as "Children's Secret Friend." As I focus on working with children, I want to be a teacher who makes them feel comfortable and entertained—much like writing small stories in a childhood diary, or keeping a secret diary or an exchange diary. I use the title "Children's Secret Friend" because I want to be a friend-like presence where children can share not only their trivial, trivial stories but also the secrets in their hearts. Having gained experience working with a diverse range of children over the past 15 years—including at welfare centers, developmental centers, gifted education institutes, kindergartens, and elementary school after-school classes—I realized that most children are unskilled at expressing their emotions on their own. Furthermore, because their focus is so heavily on academics, they often lack opportunities to express their innermost feelings. I decided to conduct online classes through "Kookeug" with the hope that psychological counseling would not be something sought only for diagnosis or when there is a real problem, but rather a time that anyone can easily approach and experience lightly, allowing them to express their thoughts and feelings. I also wanted children living abroad or in rural areas to be able to comfortably express their emotions at various times through the medium of drawing—rather than through words—and to discover their own value and happiness through conversation with me. Online psychological counseling allows children ranging from toddlers who struggle with verbal expression to adolescents to have time to freely talk and release their thoughts and emotions while drawing. It is a time to share innermost feelings and worries that are difficult to express to mom or dad. If you are frustrated because your child does not express their emotions or you do not know how they feel about you and their family, or how their school life is, Please receive the solutions your child needs through this time with me. As an art therapist, I have met a diverse range of children, and through over 500 online drawing tests, I have created a space where I can professionally check on children's minds even in the online environment. I will do my utmost to listen to their stories and look upon each child with loving eyes, striving to make Kookoo a space where they can love themselves and express their innermost feelings. :)
