My child has been using computers since first grade. Growing up in the countryside, they learned a little block coding through after-school programs within the public education system, and I think they learned a bit more coding by creating apps with App Inventor through classes organized by the Office of Education. As a humanities mom, I spent several years worrying whether learning Python would actually be beneficial for my child. Although we live in an era where we can instantly create webpages and apps with AI, I decided to give Python a try and signed up for the class. The results were much better than expected, and my child says they find it fun. It is a shame that they only started in the first year of middle school, but as the teacher advised, I think it would be good to review consistently so they don't forget!

My child is in the first year of middle school and has completed all 8 sessions of the Python introductory class. It is just one hour once a week, but I was so proud of him for finding that time interesting. It seemed like he was gaining more interest in coding and computers as the classes progressed. I feel a bit sad that the 8 introductory sessions went by so quickly. If the timing works out, I definitely want to take the intermediate class as well! Seeing him review on his own and solve problems on the websites the teacher recommended makes me feel that taking the class was the right decision. Thank you for leading the introductory class so well!!

To be honest, I didn't know exactly what Python was. Since I was a kid who liked coding and had a lot of interest in computers when I lived in Korea, I just signed up for the class out of curiosity. I really love being able to take classes like this even while living abroad. It’s amazing to watch the class and see how well I can keep up! The teacher explains things well and seems to tailor the lessons to the students' level. Even though we have to get ready an hour earlier than in Korea, I jump out of bed on Sunday mornings to attend class. If the timing works out, I’d love to keep going all the way up to the intermediate class!
