Hello😊 I am Teacher Kim Seon-hee, teaching at 'Monster Math,' a specialized educational institution for critical thinking math.👩‍🏫 For the past seven years, I have consistently taught classes at GABE, Creative Math Orda, and Monster Math, guiding children to perceive math as a "fun and easy subject." My greatest educational philosophy is to explain things at a child's level and help them feel a sense of accomplishment. 🔸️Geometry, in particular, is a field within mathematics that can feel difficult if one is not familiar with it. Therefore, it is essential to gain experience becoming familiar with shapes from an early age by utilizing various math teaching aids. Among these, the Tangram is a representative math teaching aid that is even featured in textbooks. It goes beyond simply matching shapes; it allows children to naturally internalize various mathematical concepts, such as the principle of combining two triangles to form a square, the relationship between length and angle, the concept of fractions, and an understanding of perimeter. 🔸️In this way, our classes allow students to learn the concepts of plane and solid figures by "making them with their own hands" through new math teaching aids and activity materials every month. Instead of calculation-centered math focused solely on finding the correct answer, our classes foster open-minded thinking skills by encouraging students to discover diverse solutions. Children experience the joy of discovery, exclaiming, "Ah! I can do it this way too!" Above all, the most important thing is to cultivate the "power to see things through to the end," rather than the mindset of "I can't do it." Only children who see a challenge through to the end truly understand a sense of accomplishment and develop the desire to take on the next problem. 💪✨ 🌈Through spatial perception, understanding of geometric structures, and positive experiences with math—all essential for ages 6 to 8—we will guide the class to become an enjoyable experience that children look forward to every week.
