Hello. I am Teacher Jay, a Korean essay writing instructor. After graduating from the Department of Korean Language and Literature and the Department of Korean Language Education, I have been teaching Korean subjects, essay writing, debate, and Korean to international students at high schools and universities. Based on my experience in the field, I have observed that all problems (both in real life and in learning) stem from communication errors, which can be attributed to language proficiency. Therefore, it is essential to cultivate literacy and critical thinking skills starting from elementary school through balanced reading, writing, and debate classes. By discussing after reading, students develop critical thinking and analytical skills as they express their own thoughts and understand their peers' opinions, which in turn enables them to write in depth. Furthermore, through revisions involving both format and content feedback, students engage in a deeper exploration of the subject matter. Moreover, since literacy and writing skills are required in all school subjects, proficiency in Korean is the key to determining academic performance. To accurately read a passage, it is crucial to know the precise meanings of vocabulary and grasp sentence structure and the context of paragraphs. Therefore, Korean grammar and vocabulary classes are absolutely necessary. The issue of communication is not limited to one's native language but applies to foreign languages as well. To study English grammar easily, one must first study Korean grammar. Students often find grammatical terms difficult, but studying Korean grammar can help alleviate this burden. Through Korean language classes and reading and writing classes, I want to help students communicate properly with books and the world.
