Hello. I am Teacher Ail, who has been teaching English to kindergarteners for over 20 years. I have been much loved by the children for striving to create an enjoyable classroom by connecting with each child at their level whenever possible. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, I have actively engaged in online classes and instructor training, building a solid foundation of know-how in planning and operating online lessons. Regarding online classes, in addition to private lessons and lectures for instructors, I also have experience conducting an 8-session online live class (Phonics) in collaboration with Neungryul Publishing and the Dochimom Cafe, where I taught over 200 children for 50 minutes per session. For over 10 years, I have also been providing training to impart various teaching know-how not only to teachers teaching preschoolers and elementary school students but also to dispatched instructors, as well as teachers and directors running study centers and academies. I have worked and continue to work as an instructor for textbook training and teacher training for both new and experienced teachers at the headquarters of numerous educational publishers, including Teunteun English, Neungryul, Sisa, and Dongsim. I have found great fulfillment in teaching practical pedagogical methods that can be immediately applied to the classroom. Separately, I began offering private lessons after observing a significant number of teachers in the field who found specific areas—such as phonics, sight word instruction, and storybook lessons—particularly difficult or avoided them. With the belief that children are happy only when the teacher is joyful and happy, I have been teaching phonics exclusively for nearly 10 years. My conviction is to first change teachers' perceptions and make phonics lessons easy and fun. Because I structure my lectures based on the know-how gained from teaching children in the field, the content is not detached from theory but is immediately applicable in practice and capable of rapidly bringing about positive changes in children. I am grateful to see the very high satisfaction ratings in surveys from teachers who have taken my courses, which often leads them to enroll in other seminars. One of my strengths is my ability to structure and conduct classes that allow even children encountering English for the first time, or those who are afraid of or lack confidence in the language, to learn naturally and with interest, without feeling pressured. Another strength is that I do not find it difficult to handle unexpected situations. My experience teaching in the field for over 20 years, having met a diverse range of children, and my experience conducting weekly story classes at Kium in the Kyobo Bookstore Gangnam branch a long time ago have become significant assets. At that time, the story classes at Kium did not require separate registration; anyone visiting Kyobo Bookstore with a child could participate. Since children of various ages and their parents were together throughout the class, I was able to grow by putting in extra effort to enjoy the situation myself. My motto regarding my classes is: "I could be someone's first impression of English." For a very young child who doesn't even know what English is, the thought that our lessons—rather than just English itself—could lead them to find English fun, enjoyable, and happy, or to think it's boring and they hate it, fills me with a formidable sense of responsibility and mission. I believe that if the experience of learning English through my lessons remains a pleasant memory, it can empower the child to learn on their own as they grow. I want our lessons to remain a happy English experience for the child, becoming a source of strength that helps them overcome any difficult learning periods that may come their way.
