Hillary Park

Hello! My name is Hillary, and I’m an experienced English educator with over eight years of teaching experience in South Korea. I began my teaching journey as a Native English Teacher at a public middle school, where I taught for seven years. Currently, I teach English Literature at an international high school, where I’ve been working since 2024. I hold a degree in English Literature from Texas A&M University and a TEFL/TESOL certification. My teaching style is structured yet highly adaptable to meet each student's pace and learning style. I believe that education is not one-size-fits-all—every student learns differently, and it’s important to remain flexible and patient to support their growth. One area I'm especially passionate about is writing. In many educational systems, especially in Korea, writing can be overlooked. I focus on helping students build strong foundational writing skills, especially in formats expected by U.S. institutions. Since September 2024, I’ve been leading a writing class specifically for low-level English speakers to develop these essential skills. My strengths as a teacher lie in my patience, creativity, and genuine care for my students’ success. I’ve often been told that my dedication goes above and beyond the typical expectations of a teacher. What I love most about teaching is seeing students grow more confident as they develop new skills and discover their potential.
