Hello. I am Nomad Geulssam, teaching Reading, Discussion, and Essay Writing classes to current students at overseas and international schools, as well as students returning from abroad. (I also teach classes for domestic students.) 1️⃣ Introduction to Nomad Geulssam 🧠 I studied Child and Adolescent Studies and Art Therapy. I strive to read the hearts within children's words and writings, observe them carefully, and respond warmly. I also have a particular interest in children growing up in multicultural environments. I want to accompany children who are wavering between language, culture, and identity as they express their thoughts through words and writing, and discover their true selves. 📝 I have been creating educational services and content for preschool and elementary school students. I have planned content tailored to children's perspectives at educational publishing houses and research institutes of large academies. That experience naturally permeates my current classes. Rather than classes that simply deliver information, I aim for flow-oriented lessons that draw out a child's 'understanding' and 'thoughts.' The power to design such classes is a strength I have built up over my long career of creating content. 🌍 I am a nomad who has spent the last 10 years traveling between North and Central America and Europe. In the places where I stayed not just as a traveler, but as a ‘life,’ I learned about the diverse thoughts and ways of life of the people. How about a class where you discuss Western art with a teacher who used to visit the Prado Museum as a casual stroll in front of their home, discuss economics and politics with a teacher who experienced a country abandoning its own currency amidst hyperinflation to live on the dollar, and share stories about nature and the environment with a teacher who explored the Masai Mara and Galapagos and observed the lives of wild animals? My diverse experiences serve as material for reading, writing, and speaking classes with children, and are becoming valuable resources that stimulate them to think more broadly and deeply. 👩‍🏫 Currently, I am meeting with students from diverse backgrounds in Songdo International City, including current international school students and students returning from abroad. Having also sent my children to school abroad and witnessed firsthand their growth and learning amidst different languages and cultures, I fully understand the pressure felt by returnees, multicultural students, and international school students when expressing their thoughts in writing and speech. At Kookg, I want to meet children from diverse backgrounds and continue providing customized classes that respect each individual's pace and style. _____________________________________________________________________ 2️⃣ Classes at Kookg: 💬 Classical Reading Discussion Class: Participation Available Even Without Reading the Book We engage in discussions and debates with children centered around interesting themes found in classic literature. You can participate without pressure even if you haven't read the book beforehand. Through the class, we naturally spark an interest in classics and guide students to want to read them on their own. 🗞️ Global News × Discussion & Debate Class We explore and discuss diverse issues together, including rapidly changing society, the environment, and technology. It will be a time to cultivate an interest in society by engaging with the latest news and information, and to discover new ideas from a child's perspective. In addition to this, we are preparing to meet friends at Kookgeu through various fun classes. _____________________________________________________________________ 3️⃣ The Classes Nomad Geulssam Aims For After class, rather than a child closing the book saying, "I understand everything now," I look forward to seeing a child who becomes even more curious, wants to open another book on their own, and wants to carefully jot down the stories in their heart. The moment when questions grow, thoughts spring forth, and reading and writing become "enjoyable activities" rather than "studying." I believe that these small changes accumulate to raise a child to be deeper and stronger. A time to offer inspiration to the child and awaken their sense of thought 💡 Nomad Geulssam will be with you 🤍
