Hello, I am Hyejin, and I teach Korean writing classes. I work with students ranging from 3rd grade elementary school to 3rd grade middle school, reading books and newspapers, and conducting writing classes centered on descriptive writing. [Key Background] I am a writing, reading, and essay instructor who has engaged with children through a focus on writing and reading. - I operate a publishing-related organization and work as a published author. - I have experience teaching reading and essay writing as an after-school instructor at an elementary school in Sejong City. - I continue to work as a writing and reading essay instructor, helping students with their writing. Additionally, having obtained the Writing and Reading Instructor certification in 2008, I have focused on education that connects writing and reading. [Writing Pacemaker Class] I believe that the class begins when students feel that writing is not difficult. I act as a "writing pacemaker," walking alongside students through the entire process leading up to the writing stage. - We gradually build food for thought by reading books and newspapers. - I provide materials relevant to the topic to help students establish a direction on what and how to write. - Through simple questions and communication, we guide students to organize the structure and content of their writing on their own. Through this process, we lead even students who felt overwhelmed by descriptive writing to develop a sense that "I can write at this level." [Literacy and Descriptive Writing] The class focuses on improving literacy and descriptive writing skills. - Students practice identifying the flow, key points, and hidden meanings of texts while reading books and newspapers. - Based on what they have read, they practice the thinking and expression required for descriptive questions by repeatedly "writing according to the topic." - Students learn basic structures and sentence construction methods step-by-step so they can write on any topic. Through this, we help students develop both the ability to read and understand texts and the ability to express their own thoughts in writing. [Editing and Consistent Writing Habits] We provide editing for each piece of writing written by the students. - We specifically identify the strengths and weaknesses of each individual piece. - We guide students to identify their own weaknesses and determine what aspects they can improve in their next writing. - Through the experience of rewriting based on feedback, we help them physically feel the process of their writing gradually improving. By repeating this process, we aim to build a habit of consistent writing and cultivate the courage to take on challenges without fear regarding any writing topic. We will help children perceive writing as something they can do rather than a burden, and enable them to track their own growth. We want to create together experiences where writing clarifies thoughts and strengthens expression.
